The times have indeed changed in this county's high school football spectrum. Long were the days of Franklin dominating North Brunswick on the gridiron. Still, on Franklin’s homecoming game, the Raiders defeated the Warriors 34-14 to move to 5-0 and clinch the National Silver Division, making it their 3rd division title in 4 years.

The game was the offensive display everyone expected coming into the night as the Raiders jumped out to a 34-0 lead early in the 3rd quarter. It was clear from minute one who the better team was, despite the flicker of hope Franklin got after recovering a fumble on the opening kickoff. When the Raiders got the ball after that, their drives were methodical. Frank Garbolino played efficient ball tonight and had another strong performance under center. Zahmir Dawud continued his emergence on the big stage as he ran in a touchdown and continued to be the main piece in the Wide Receiver core. Then on the next drive, Garbolino ran a touchdown in and threw one to his brother, Jack, to take a 28-0 lead at the half. Then at the beginning of the 2nd half, Jared Tynes forced a fumble from Franklin QB Sam Mattia, and Justin Batts ran in a touchdown to take a 35-0 lead. After that run, the Warriors scored 2 touchdowns to make it 35-14, but by that point, it was too late.

The Raiders face off against New Brunswick next week at Memorial Stadium at 7:00 pm.
