Student athletes who are interested in playing sports in college will need to adhere to the policies and requirements of the NCAA.

Below is information about the NCAA’s policies and procedures for high school students:

The NCAA has a comprehensive handbook that should be reviewed at Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete

  • Student athletes planning to play at the Division III level will need to complete a free profile account on the NCAA’s website

  • Student athletes who are planning to play at the Division I or

Division II level will need to complete the Academic and Amateurism Certification on the NCAA’s website and meet the minimum core grade point average requirements that can be calculated using the NCAA Eligibility Worksheet.  The core GPA is based on the list of Approved Core courses at NBTHS.  It is critically important that student athletes have enough core courses on their transcript. Students should speak to their school counselor about covering all requirements, it is their responsibility to make sure this is done.

  • Students who receive free/reduced lunch qualify for a fee waiver for eligibility certification.  Request a fee waiver on the website during the registration process and it will be approved.
