Sayreville has long been a thorn in the side of North Brunswick, but on the night labeled as the “Raiders Revenge”, North Brunswick came out and played a complete game on both sides of the ball to secure a 22-0 victory over Sayreville.

The elephant in the room was Sayreville coming into the game without their starting QB Michael Colonnello. They were forced to revert to the wildcat offensive scheme with backup QB Caiden Holmes under center. The emphasis on the rush didn’t place any haze on the Raiders however as their defense held strong against the rushing attack thrown on by the Bombers. Frankie Garbolino and Zahmir Dawud had another fantastic game as they both continued their stellar season together with Dawud rushing for 2 touchdowns and Garbolino tossing one to his brother Jack. It was just one of those nights for North Brunswick where everything went right for them with them recording 2 takeaways on the defensive side and playing an incredibly clean game on offense with no stains to speak of.

Garbolino expressed his elation after the game saying, “It felt great to beat Sayreville, especially at home after coming up short last year. We played very well all around on offense and defense, and the defense shutting teams out makes my life a whole lot easier.”

The Raiders march into Franklin next Friday night to take on the Warriors at 7 pm.
